JSC “Lidskoe Pivo”, part of the international holding Olvi PLC, for the 10th time rewarded gifted children, whose achievements in the field of science, sports and art repeatedly scored high marks. This year, due to the difficult epidemiological situation, the company, as part of a socially responsible business, abandoned the classic awards ceremony, holding the event online.
Since 2011, JSC “Lidskoe Pivo”, as the official representative of the Olvi Foundation in Belarus, has been awarding one-time scholarships to gifted children from the company’s home region. During the selection of the scholarship holders not only the achievements in the field of talent, but also the general performance of the child in school, as well as the motivation to utilize abilities in a future profession are taken into account. In addition, the company seeks to support those who need it a little more than others: children from orphanages, single-parent families or those with physical disabilities have repeatedly become the scholarship holders.
This year 9 teenagers from Grodno region competed for the scholarship. All of them are winners of various competitions, academic olympics, contests and conferences. The commission evaluated candidates in three nominations: sports, science and art. Despite the online format of the ceremony, all the participants had the opportunity to learn about each other’s talents.
Among the recipients of the grant this year are: Elizaveta Evtushik, winner of the Grand Prix of the I Republican Festival-Competition of Young Performers on Folk Instruments. Georgy Vyderko, multiple prize-winner and winner of youth drafts championships in Belarus and abroad in the classic and blitz program. Nikita Bovsuk, winner of the regional chemistry olympics and the regional schoolchildren’s sports competitions. All of them received a one-time scholarship of 1,000 euros.
In addition, for the third time Lidskoe Pivo has rewarded talented children whose parents work for the company. The holders of a one-time scholarship of 500 euros are: Kira Shishkina, prize-winner of the republican and international competitions in short track, as well as Margarita Gelvey, winner of the regional biology olympics, prize-winner of the regional competition of scientific biological and ecological projects, and an active participant in socially significant eco-projects.
