The Lida Brewery that was founded in 1876 and has been operating for a century and a half, opens the anniversary year with the release of a premium range that brings together historical references, subtle design, and signature recipes.
The concept is based on the idea of value created with time. According to representatives of the company, 150 years of experience and brewing traditions were reinterpreted as new flavors in the context of Lidskae's modern history, similar to how precious gems are formed as a result of many centuries of geological processes.
The range includes two special varieties, Yantarnae (Amber) and Rubinavae (Ruby), each with its own color and flavor profile.
Yantarnae is a unique variety that combines features from two distinct styles: pure smooth malty taste of Munich Helles and fruity spicy notes typical of Belgian ales.
Rubinavae is a deep red variety characterized by slightly sweet berry flavor and fresh fruity taste with delicate hints of spices.
Naming selection was an important part of work. While Rubinavae was an easy choice, the name of Yantarnae variety caused heated debates among the customers even before the product hit the shelves.
"We took naming very seriously. Both names are in Belarusian. For the pale variety, we were split between Yantarnae and Burshtynavae (both meaning "amber"); the research and focus groups demonstrated that most people associate "Yantarnae" with color, while consultations with the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus confirmed the applicability of this word in Belarusian. Thus, Yantarnae found its way to the label, while we will also use "burshtynavy" in communications to reflect the richness of the Belarusian language," said representatives of the company.
The increased volume of the bottle, 615 mL, became another unique feature of the anniversary range. This is in reference to a historical measure from the late 19th century and a practical solution at the same time: 115 mL more than the standard and 165 mL more than the popular 0.45 L volume — generosity for the friends.
The bottle itself has a unique shape, and its upper part is designed as facets of precious gems, symbolizing multi-faceted history of the brewery. Textured design and anniversary logo with the brand symbol placed on the bottle neck make the new varieties stand out on the shelf and emphasize premium status of the special series.
The new varieties will be available in stores across Belarus in early February.
