The museum opens in the capital of Belarusian brewing at Lidskoe Pivo. Hundreds of exhibits are located on four floors, including unique century-old objects and modern equipment revealing the stages of production, educational video installations, and a tasting room. You can touch, move, and even taste some of the objects. The museum will welcome its first visitors in April, pre-registration will be available on the website.
Lida is a major historical center of brewing. The oldest factory in Belarus, Lidskoe Pivo, has been producing beer and beverages since 1876. The rich history of the Company begins with Nosel Pupko. On his own plot of land, he built a small brewery, which has never stopped working throughout 146 years and brews the legendary beer under the LIDSKAE brand name to this day. So, it is not surprising that a modern interactive Lida Brewery Museum was opened exactly in Lida.
"On March 29, Lidskoe Pivo celebrates its 146th birthday and presents everyone with a gift – it opens the doors of the Lidskoe Brewery Museum. Our team has been working diligently for several years to create the museum. In 2018–2019, restoration works were conducted to restore the facades of the historic brewery building. In 2020–2021, internal renovation work was carried out in the museum premises. The final stage was the creation of the museum exhibition using modern multimedia technology, which, in my opinion, allowed us to seamlessly combine history and modernity. Come visit us, and you will see everything with your own eyes," Audrius Mikshis, General Director of Lidskoe Pivo, invites to the museum.
The first floor of the museum is dedicated to the history and development of brewing, from the invention of "liquid bread" by the Sumerians to the modern scale of production with innovative equipment in compliance with all technical regulations. You will also learn about the role of barrels in beer production and see a unique collection of bottles and labels from the late 19th and early 20th centuries.
On the second floor, there are several interactive areas where you can learn about aromas and flavors, special ingredients that are specific to a particular variety of beer, get acquainted with the table of beer styles and different forms of beer glasses. Plus, if you win a game, you will have the opportunity to create your own personalized label!
The third floor is dedicated specifically to the history and development of Lidskoe Pivo, its achievements, proved by awards and medals. You will also be offered a wide range of the Company's products, including the latest innovations.
On the fourth floor, there is a tasting room, where you can try a Lidskoe beer variety under the guidance of an experienced guide, while gaining additional knowledge about the drinking culture and the rules of tasting the hoppy beverage.
