British recognition: Lidskoe Pivo won three awards at once at a prestigious international competition

JSC “Lidskoe Pivo”, part of the European holding Olvi Plc, has outflanked competitors from 30 countries at the International Beer Challenge 2020. Over 500 different varieties were presented to the jury and were evaluated using a blind tasting method. Three products of Lida brewers at once received awards: Pshanichnae from Master’s Collection, LIDSKAE Premium and Koronet Stout Original.

International Beer Challenge is a prestigious international competition held annually in London. The panel of judges includes eminent brewers, beer sommeliers and other representatives of the industry. For the 24th time they evaluated the submitted samples in 81 categories. Given the epidemiological situation, for the first time, blind tastings were carried out online. The experts evaluated samples from both traditional brewing leaders (Belgium, Germany, Great Britain, USA) and from young players on the world market (Chile, Myanmar, South Korea).

Gold was awarded to Pshanichnae from Master’s Collection (wheat beer category). This is a pale unfiltered beer without opacifiers and flavorings. It is produced using the unique Triple Fermentation technology. It provides the beer with a lush foam and a mild wheat taste with pronounced fruity notes of banana and cloves. Strength — 5.0%, bitterness — 13 IBU.

In the category of lagers, the jury noted the LIDSKAE Premium variety, to which bronze was awarded. The pale beer with a pure malt flavor is produced from a special yeast race using an improved low fermentation technology. This is the first product created by joint efforts of Belarusian technologists and specialists from the Finnish concern Olvi.

The third medal, also bronze, went to Koronet Stout Original (stout/porters category). This is a British-style brewed beer distinguished by a deep dark color, malt and caramel aroma, a special bitterness and a lush creamy foam. Strength — 4.2%, bitterness — 10 IBU.
